Topic: Mario Kart 8

I completely skipped out on Mario Kart on the Wii after hearing about its issues, really bad rubber banding and such. But I still can't help being excited for the Wii U one after watching the trailer. So pretty, and the courses look really interesting. That and I've been playing Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS and I'm digging it. Man my interest in the Wii U continues to rise.

I didn't mind Mario Kart Wii. It wasn't as good as Mario Kart 64, but it was much better than Double Dash.

Yeah I never cared as much for Double Dash either.  I know the Wii version caught some crap because of the rubber banding and catering to casuals, but ultimately it doesn't matter.  4 player local is still just as much fun as it ever was.

I had some fun making that video so I wanted to go even further with it. I really enjoy the narrative of Luigi seeking revenge from being in the shadow of everyone else, so this is his moment... in Mario Kart, this is where shit gets real.

I made a cut at the end with the song because obviously there isnt enough footage unless I slow everything down, but I also included the video above. Hope you like it.

Haha!  That was great.  I wonder if Herr Holst would roll over in his grave, or appreciate this use of his war piece.  (I thought it was perfect.)

This game is really causing quite a stir, to the tune of boosting WiiU sales over 600%.  That's great news.  I hope it sends the system into critical mass.  With the aggressive microtransaction bullshit going on with the mainstream new-gen systems, the WiiU may ironically turn out to be the console to get.

It certainly makes me want a Wii U more than I did before. And with Smash Bros coming this year I hope it boosts the Wii U up a bit. The other consoles still seem to be trying to find their groove with no real "must have" games yet. And with what they've been saying on Giant Bomb, anything that would be must have shown at E3 is going to be "Coming 2015".

Hillariously, I was on Reddit for about an hour today.  "Luigi's Death Stare" has gone from being pretty hilarious to just worn out in record time.
