old movie: fist of legend
« on: Sunday, April 29, 2007, 06:38:32 AM »
just saw it a week ago or something during a trip.  it's so cliche... though the fighting scenes were choreographed well.. some parts were funny because you could tell when they were using stand ins.

i wonder j ust how much of the story is true though

Not sure which fist of legend Raisa is talking about, but the one with Jet Li fighting off japanese invaders is one of my favorite Kung Fu movies.

Yea, I think she's talking about Fist of Legend with Jet Li.  The story is sort of an homage to Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury.  But with a more favorable slant to the Japanese in this one.  It's set during the Japanese occupation of China and well, a lot of it isn't fondly remembered.  And a useless tidbit, but in Fist of Legend, Jet Li's character avenges his master Huo Yuanjia's death, which coincidentally was the character he played in Fearless.
