Yes... IGN.

Yee-owch.  And here I thought it wasn't looking too bad.

It doesn't look too bad at all.

I think these critics were just expecting a masterpiece of film making... which in all honesty is not something you would expect from a movie based on a video game.

I'm still undecided whether or now I will go to the theater to see this or not though.

The best part is that one of the very few good reviews isn't actually for Hitman at all.

But yeah, we all knew it would suck.  Even if you don't want to admit it, deep down inside you knew it.  The rights for games that would make good movies don't get sold.  It's much smarter for companies to hold onto them until a blockbuster hits and a fad starts.

Not entirely.  Silent Hill could have been the best movie ever if they hadn't fucked it up.  And it still got at least a few things right visually... they just needed a few new actors and to murder all the fucking script writers.

The movie, directed by Xavier Gens, was inspired by a best-selling video game and serves as an excellent illustration of my conviction that video games will never become an art form -- never, at least, until they morph into something else or more.

Fuck you, arrogant prick.  Try playing a video game that could actually be *considered* art before you mouth off.

I'm sick of all these people saying video games ain't art...
*growls*

EDIT:
From Merriam Webster's Computer Dictionary...
Quote from: Merriam Webster's Computer Dictionary
1. art \"art\ n 1 : skill acquired by experience or study 2 : a branch of learning; esp : one of the humanities 3 : an occupation requiring knowledge or skill 4 : the use of skill and imagination in the production of things of beauty; also : works so produced 5 : artfulness

2. art abbr 1 article 2 artificial 3 artillery

(c)2000 Zane Publishing, Inc. and Merriam-Webster, Incorporated.  All rights reserved

Video games and computer games have just been proven to meet many of the definitions of art, according to the dictionary.

So, all you naysayers -- I laugh in your face!

Man, these movie-to-game conversions suck. That just proves movies aren't an artform.

Wait, what the fuck did I just say?

Ok, don't do this.  People have been debating where the line between pure entertainment and art falls for centuries, and it's pretty much about as pointless as debating faith.  You're not going to prove anything one way or another and when it all comes down to it it doesn't matter in the least.

Isn't entertainment a form of art? I'm not trying to argue or anything.

I firmly believe that anything can be art. Art is more dependant on the people experiencing it; in a way that is what defines it. I personally believe that two of the most prominent factors of any art are skill and expression.

Anyway, back to the main topic. I'm still curious to see Hitman. I think Olyphant has performed very well in all the roles I've seen him in so far.

On that note, apparently there's a new Turok game in the works!

Ohhhh..... this guy...

I've seen him in a poster or two of Hitman, but didn't recognize him at all. Now I do... Pretty decent actor.

Paper thin plot and weak script.  Not surprising, but even the action sequences seemed forced.  Not really worth watching.  I was really hoping they would tie more of the actual Hitman storyline into it but clearly that did not happen.
