Same here.  Bushmills is actually my favorite, more than likely... but when you're talking about whiskey that good, who really cares which is better?  Visiting the Jameson distillery in Ireland was one of the greatest experiences of my life.  My only regret is I never made it to the Guinness brewery.

Jameson is good stuff.  I tried Bushmills on your recommendation, which is similar, but I like Jameson a bit better.

I had actually never tried Bushmills until I went to Ireland.  It's got a slightly more earthy, peaty sensibility to it that I find sort of comforting, but yeah, they're fairly similar on the whole.  I grew up on Seagram's 7... pure rotgut.  I moved up to good Irish whiskey probably a little before I could legally buy it.

I like Seagram's 7 for making 7 and 7's.  I like those but I tend to crush them and get drunk way too fast.

Seagrams 7 is my go-to economical whiskey.  There's a bottle of Jack Daniel's sitting on my desk, however.

I'm curious to try this Bushmills.  I have never seen the label in any of the liquor stores I have been to.  I'll have to look harder.

I usually just drink Jack; I've always wanted to try Jameson but never have.

James with a beer back is my drink(s) of choice. I never feel compelled to burn through it like I do with everything else. Like that shot of Evan Williams after my 11th drink. A real WMD, that.

Btw, I'd recommend Gentleman Jack also. It's only a few bucks more than Jack at the store but waaaaaaay better. I frequently alternate between that and Jameson.

Man, who knew there were so many whiskey drinkers here?  In my neck of the woods there's just me and my friend who I grew up into an alcoholic with.  Beyond that I don't really know anybody that drinks the stuff.  Well, my father in law does, but he's more of a bourbon guy, and I'm really not.  I generally stick to the Irish stuff, or scotch if that's not available.  There are a few bourbons I like okay, and I'll still sometimes drink them over another liquor if that's what's around at a party or something, but... yeah.

I'm not much of a drinker though. I can't stand beer. When I did drink it was usually a mixed drink at a restaurant or adding cheap vodka to something else.

I hate the Tennessee-style whiskeys like Jack Daniels.  I am with Que here.  I like the Irish whiskeys.  Everything else has too much of a bite to me.

I found a bottle of Bushmills.  What is everyone's favorite Irish Whiskey drink?  I was just going to do my usual Whiskey and Gingerale, but I don't want to ruin the whiskey taste.  Thoughts/ideas?
