Really?  I thought from the subtitle it was going to take place in Saskatchewan.

The Sleeping Dogs soundtrack is pretty impressive. They did a fantastic job of getting the right music for this game. Check out the playlist.

Just tried the Sleeping Dogs PC Demo. Those 2 missions they have you take on - awesome. I love the combat. It just looks awesome - it looks like an awesome Hong-Kong style martial arts movie. The combat itself feels similar to Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City's combat - so, it's awesome. Throw in environmental kills - too sweet. Nothing like finishing a combat sequence w/ an enemy, grapping them and then slamming a guy's head into a fan or sticking someone's head into a burning furnace. The controls are perfect for melee combat w/ the 360 controller.

One thing sucked - I couldn't move my movement controls from WSAD over to Cursors keys, since I'm left-handed and would prefer to use the cursors. So much for that. So, I stuck w/ the controller - even for shooting. While I'd rather use KB/mouse for shooting, the 360 controller is fine and adequate enough for shooting.

BTW - the game on my PC looks very nice w/ most stuff pumped-way up. Had to turn down one of the in-game graphics features of High-Quality AA to Normal, but everything else was maxed-out and running around 35-40 frames consistently.

I'm gonna have to keep my eye on this one, when it goes on sale...

This is the deal of the week on Xbox.  $15 makes it hard to pass up.  Maybe I'll grab the demo first tomorrow.

This game is the king of bad control, particularly driving, which is shockingly bad.  I think it would be about the same if it used the D-pad instead of the analog stick.  There is a huge dead zone, followed by a sudden jerk on the steering.  Rapid modulation (as needed on old D-pad driving games) is the only way to make the car go where you want it to.  Physics are nonexistent, both for you and for the vehicles around you.  There is no sense of mass or momentum.  GTA 4 was not great in this area either, but at least things felt solid and controllable.  Quite a let down.  I am so glad I got this for cheap.  It would have been a real ripoff at full price.

Shit. Smash+Grab looked fun too.

Tried it for a short-time over the past weekend; it was fun + cool. :)

I would like to see someone else either buy the IP out so they can support the game.
Or UFG just releases a SDK, releases game to public for FREE, and let the users go crazy with it.

This game going up in flames is a waste. The foundation there is solid + fun.
