Somalian pirates seized a Ukrainian ship carrying 33 tanks (http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/africa/09/26/ship.tanks/index.html)

Ukrainian: Hey, we're gonna send you guys some tanks on an unarmed ship. Hopefully they make it through those pirate-infested waters without any problems.

I highly recommend you read this article on the situation. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/01/world/africa/01pirates.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin) The NYT interviewed the pirates. They actually seem like pretty nice people.

Yeah, just not in their seas, illegally.

They seem to have a worthy cause just no officially recognized status to police the region.

I was just surprised - they sounded like pretty forthright people. No "Arrrs" or "Mateys" or any of that.
