You dec- uh... wait, unicorns (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/op-ed/6228-Yahtzees-Prototype-vs-InFamous-Challenge)?
-
That's some messed up shit.
-
That's fucked up.
-
I'll randomly pick Prototype, just b/c InFamous doesn't have a PC version... :P
-
How is that random if you had a reason?

Don't try to analyze to D's posts. Your head will just explode. And D will win, he always does.

Awww. I wanted to explode. That happens to me sometimes.

I want to vote for inFamous for its stronger story elements but the aiming takes away any measure of fun I could have with the gameplay. Prototype gets my vote for its innovative lock-on system.
-
?
What's wrong with the aiming?

What's wrong with the aiming?
The fact that it's there. I have a really hard time playing games that require any form ofmanual aiming, it just sucks the fun right out of it and makes it tedious. I've been trying to play Resistance and some other shooters to try to get used to aiming with the analogue but I just end up getting more frustrated instead.
inFamous relies too heavily on aiming and shooting than melee, making it more akin to a FPS, unlike Prototype which prioritizes contact fighting and autoaims when you need to shoot.
Even in GTA4, which was more about shooting, you had the lock-on option.
Anyway, this will just lead back to the mouse vs stick argument, we all know where I stand there.
inFamous: It looks like a great game but its reliance on manual aiming removes the fun factor; feels like a handicap. If you don't mind analogue stick aiming then I recommend it.
Prototype: A great game with a control scheme that makes it easy to maneuvre and feels empowering. For those of us who prefer not to waste time trying to line up a shot with a stick.

Looks like Prototype is gonna outsell Infamous by a mile.
No surprise, since Prototype's on 3 platforms (PC, PS3, 360), while Infamous is on one (PS3). (http://www.destructoid.com/prototype-expected-to-outsell-infamous-by-90-percent-139606.phtml)

I forgot about this thread, heh.
Well X, I'm a mouse guy over a controller guy any day of the week, but I can't say I ever found aiming with a stick all that difficult. Game is tops in my book.

I just find it extremely awkward. It's my equivalent of playing Street Fighter with a keyboard; it can be done but it's not made fo rit. In the end: to each his own :)
Hey MyD, how did Prototype do on the PS3 alone?
I was just watching the inFamous "behind the scenes" video (from PSN store) and I couldn't help but notice all the "this game was only made possible due to the PS3" comments. Typical PR bull about how the PS3 facilitates game development and makes dreams come true etc. I love my PS3 but that's some way-up-there bullcrap.

No clue.
That would be an interesting stat. to find out, though.

Haha, I can play Street Fighter with a keyboard just fine. I grew up on One Must Fall 2097.

Oh man, I miss OMF! haha That game was great, though we ended up using a key-mapper to play with the pad.

For years I could also play any game at like 5 FPS because I had a shitty 386 that couldn't run anything. I played the entirety of the original Descent never getting more than 10 FPS at any given time. I'm beginning to think that control issues never bother me because I've experienced all the worst they have to offer.
