Arlington Road
« on: Tuesday, December 12, 2006, 01:25:21 PM »
So I saw this movie on TV today.  Wow.  Wasn't this like 1998 or so?  This is a seriously unsettling movie considering current events.  I have to go... I don't know.  Do something not scary.  Really good movie, but not exactly what you might call uplifting.  In fact, you might call it really awful.

Never heard of it... but consider it added to my netflix queue.

It sounds like you felt like I did after I watched Mystic River.

I've been whacked out by it all day.  I read up on it a bit and yes, it was 1999.  Considering the events of our recent past, that made the movie hit home like a bullet.  It hurt.  Jeff Bridges and Tim Robinson were awesome.  I can see why a lot of people wouldn't like the ending, but it seems to me this movie probably deserved a bit more credit than it got.  And I don't think that's just the recent events talking.

That is a good movie... I should re-watch it again since I originally saw it when it came out. I bet it would have a totally different impact of me.

Hmm I just looked up the movie on Wikipedia and it seems interesting, I'm going to have to give this a watch sometime.

It's kinda funny that this came out a good two years before the Sept. 11 incident!

Very good movie.

Tim Robbins is very disturbing in this movie...and he's very good, too.

And the ending was like "Whoa...."

I dunno, Tim Robbins is just plain creepy usually, anyways...

...Well, probably except for in Mystic River.

Didn't watch Catch A Fire, so can't speak on that one -- another movie w/ Tim Robbins. Also stars Derek Luke.
