Hitman

Trailer has been released.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/hitman/trailera/

October 6th.  I'm kind of excited, but the trailer shows him as a little trigger and explosive happy though.

I don't like the guy they cast for Agent 47, he just looks like some douche with a shaved head.  The guy should have bulked up a little or they should have at least got a guy that looked a little more rough.

I saw a preview for this in the theater tonight.  It actually didn't look half bad all things considered.  I expected much worse.  It could have potential.

Actually its the villain from the new Die Hard movie. I saw it and noticed how familiar he looked, then made the connection when I thought of him with a shaved head. The trailer looked kind of cool, but it could go either way, I suspect if it has a beefy plot with lots of dialogue, it will fail.

After seeing the trailer, I can say that at first look, it at least, has the feel and look that the Hitman games have done pretty well.

Even in the music for the movie trailer, it felt like something I could see being in the game. Is Jesper Kyd doing the music for the movie??? You really can't do a Hitman project w/out Kyd composing, if you ask me. :P

About the movie trailer being trigger happy, well -- yeah, you could do that in the Hitman games, but you'll likely finish a level with barely any health, if you do. It ain't easy to finish a level like that. If the movie does goes the trigger-happy route, let's hope in the movie, he comes up pretty beat-up. :P

Trailer was much better than I expected. Let's hope the movie turns out decent b/c a lot of the video-game-to-movies transitions just lose something, in the process...Namely b/c I'd guess it's real hard to make a 6-15 hour game and condense it into a 1 hr 1/2 to say 2 hour film...

Say what....?

Quote
Fox Mad Over Hitman Movie Being Too Gory?
[Uros "2Lions" Jojic] 01:45 pm EDT @ October 12th, 2007

Gamespot is reporting by way of Twitch that Fox has supposedly fired Hitman movie director Xavier Gens for turning the silver screen adaptation of the well known video game series in "an explicitly violent, very bloody cut of the film that apparently included a number of head shots and extreme gore moments."

"Sources had told the site that Fox balked at the cut, booted Gens from the film, and brought in editor Nicolas De Toth to cut together a toned-down, bloodless version of the film. According to Twitch, De Toth was responsible for the sanitized PG-13 cut of Live Free or Die Hard."

Fox later contacted Twitch to deny the earlier reporting saying that De Toth had been brought on as a consultant--not an editor--and that Gens is still on board the project. As well as that the movie retains its R rating.

The movie opens in the US on November 21 and stars Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47.

So who again thought that this movie was going to be half-decent?

Fox is the Electronic Arts of the film and TV world.

I liked this a lot, which surprised me.  As an action movie with little else that matters, I think it's pretty good.  I have not played any Hitman games, so the movie stands on its own for me.

I saw this and it really doesn't deserve that low RT score. I think Ebert had it right though.

The movie wasn't incredible by any means, but it had its share of absorbing moments. It could have used improvements in many scenes, but overall a pretty OK movie.

I've never seen it and don't really want to.  I think that's because I hated Hitman 2 (the only one I played) and hate the actor playing the hitman in the movie.

Yea I think the games are pretty average, but the movie wasn't as bad as I expected. Not great, but not bad either.

I watched the majority of this on TV tonight. It definitely wasn't trash but it wasn't great either. The acting was horrible at times but it was viewable. I definitely wouldn't pay money to see it, though.

I loathe the actor who plays the hitman.  He alone makes Live Free or Die Hard unwatchable.

I think he was also in that movie where that kid is living next to this girl who turns out to be a porn star or something.

First time I saw him was in Go.  I hated him in that too.  I don't know, there's something about him.  He's just a really shitty actor and he has this air of pompousness.
