That might make some sense, considering I don't think that I ever signed up for Hellgate:London.

I don't think that I'm going to upgrade my computer. I'm certainly not going to for an alpha test, but in general I think that I'm looking towards a 360 more than a new computer. PM me if you are interested in getting my account.

The client is probably too big for me to bother with, unfortunately. We'll see if I get in on my own accord.

Yeah Idol, I figured that you would probably decline on my offer for that reason. Apparently the download is a couple of gigs. I would be all over this if my damn computer could run it. After reading the message boards, I want to play so bad.

Yay funs.  Ghandi, does this thing have an NDA?  I didn't see one.

I agreed to it when I created the account. Don't post pics here or the evil men will get you.

The only real negative to getting my account is that it's tied to my email account. Dunno if you can change that or not.

A guy I know over on IGN stated that the NDA restricts you to the point where all you can say is if you're in the alpha testing or not.

Okay, that's what I was wondering, because there wasn't shit about it in the install process.  I have a stockpile of screens right now, but obviously I had no plans no showing them to anybody, and I assumed that I wasn't allowed to talk about anything that I was seeing.  So I won't.

And it's cool Ghandi, I can change the email.  =)

EDIT - Not being able to talk about this sucks.  A lot.  That is all.

I doubt they'd care much about that information being posted.  Though I can't say for sure.  You know, Ghandi?

Also, this isn't a beta.  It's an alpha.  Alpha versions of games tend to be inherently broken and unplayable messes, and you generally don't see developers have alpha tests.  Beta is usually the line they draw for public consumption on any level.  The only alphas I've ever seen before have been leaks that weren't supposed to get out there.

You can't post the system requirements. You have to login with your account to get them. That's the whole reason that I created the account myself instead of just giving the code to someone else.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it. I read the boards and stuff when I had the account and it looked awesome.

So, looks like its releasing on Halloween.
Quote
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Get ready to hack, slash, and shoot your way through a demon-infested London this Halloween! Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) and NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced that Hellgate™: London, the premier title from Flagship Studios, will start hitting retail stores in North America on October 31, 2007 and in Europe on November 2, 2007 for the PC. Hellgate: London represents the next leap in the evolution of the action RPG genre, combining the depth and addictive gameplay of traditional RPGs with the visceral action of first-person shooters.

“We wanted to hit the sweet-spot for release in terms of the development schedule and delivering the highest-quality game to our players,” said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios. “Halloween was the perfect fit as it ensures that Hellgate: London will have an appropriate amount of beta testing, while also being an incredibly fun time to unleash the game.”

One of the most anticipated PC games and RPGs of the year, Hellgate: London offers infinite re-playability with dynamically generated levels, items, enemies and events. The player creates a heroic character, completes quests, and battles through an innumerable amount of demons to advance through a deep, rich story-driven campaign. A robust, flexible skill and spell system, highly customizable appearances, and a massive variety of randomly generated equipment allow each player to create his or her own unique hero.

While some may prefer to slay demons solo, players will also be able to take the fight online(1), teaming up with friends to save London in a secure, client-server environment and playing through the entire story-driven campaign for free. For those players who want to extend their Hellgate: London experience, Flagship is offering an optional subscription service which will give players access to huge amounts of content on an ongoing basis in the form of quests, character classes, demons, items, etc. More details about Hellgate: London’s online options are coming soon.

The game has not yet been rated by the ESRB, PEGI or BBFC. Visit www.esrb.org, www.pegionline.eu or www.bbfc.co.uk for updated rating information. For more information about Hellgate: London, log onto http://info.ea.com or the game’s official website at www.hellgatelondon.com.

WTF is up w/ all these games that have a SP component requiring a Net Connection????
(Such as Bioshock and Hellgate: London)

Will that just be for activation purposes?
Or will I need to be online to play the SP (like say Lost Planet PC)?

Internet connection required to play online.

Seriously, D, you need to read and think before you post.  You've been making an awful lot of fluff posts lately for some reason.

Anyway, it's cool that it's coming out so soon, but it also sort of sucks because November is going to be a busy month for me if I do the NaNoWriMo thing again, which I was planning on doing.  Still, I did most of the work for that at work, not at home, so hopefully it won't be such a big deal.

Hey Ghandi, do you know when the alpha test closes?

No clue. Probably around a month-month and a half. I'd check the forums. Most of the time it's just a matter of how solid the game is and how much work they get done, which obviously varies.

Collectors edition contents revealed.

    * Special Packaging and Art Design
    * Hellgate: London Game 2 DVDs
    * Bonus Disc containing:

      - “Making of Hellgate: London”
      - Official Game Soundtrack
    * Hellgate: London Map Poster
    * 106 page Dark Horse Graphic Novel
    * Unique in-game pet – Mantawraith

Damn, the game is much larger than I thought if it comes on two DVDs.

Eh, maybe not. They don't make it clear if its the game on two DVDs, or there are two DVDs in the box with one being the game and the other being the extra features.

I looked around on the alpha forums and Flagship's, but no word on the DVD situation.  Still, awesome CE all things considered.  I'll be nabbing that at some point in the next few months.

I'm pretty sure GTA:SA for PC was on two DVDs, one was install the other was required to play, perhaps it's the same deal here?

Did GTA: SA for the PC have a Special Edition w/ extra content on a second DVD?
I don't remember if they did or not.

I have the Regular Edition, on one DVD.

Many games have been having Regular and Special Editions, in the last few years...

VC came on 2 CD's.
