"Super" Tuesday
« on: Tuesday, February 05, 2008, 05:25:30 PM »
Did anyone vote today? I know that North Carolina doesn't take part in Super Tuesday, so I didn't vote.

So far Obama has won Georgia and Huckabee has won West Virginia.

Well I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I won't agree or defend it, but I'll drink to it.

I don't think VA took part either, I really don't care either.

I dislike all of the candidates, but of the serious contenders, Huckabee is the only one I actually hate.

I hate Hillary Clinton because she has a vagina and the audacity to think she can compete against men.  There, someone finally fucking said it.

I voted a month ago. (hooray for early voting!)

Of course since then the candidate that I voted for has dropped out. Fun.

Was it Ron Paul? Because if you voted for Ron Paul, I'm gonna have to assume you're a Truther.

I thought he did, but it seems I was mistaken.

Good thing, too. Pretending to be a Ron Paul supporter is an excellent way to troll a message board.

No, he didn't drop out yet. Either he is naive or he just likes to lose. The one thing I like about him is that he speaks his mind. He's just not very good at it. Plus he has ridiculous ideas on how to improve the country.

Anyways, the whole primary process is stupid. It's way too drawn out. The amount of money being spent is absurd, and we have just started the process.

I'm registered as an independent, so I couldn't vote in the primaries

I had no idea who Ron Paul was, and now see his name on the internet everywhere. It sounds like the name of some reggae singer.

I think you can register as a democrat, or whatever you want, every election.  Maybe there's a time period you can't switch, but even so, primaries are years apart.  I've considering doing that just so I can vote for Obama (and against Hillary).

Yeah but if you are registering Republican you have to pay the standard $25,000 fee and urinate on a homeless person.

Yes, they steal our loose change and infest our bridges. Bastards.

Its funny that you mention the Hillary thing because I was thinking the same thing today- you don't have to smile in every picture. And especially not that cheesy, fake smile that she seems to have. She may have the credentials but she just doesn't look like a president, particularly when she breaks down in tears over ridiculousness.

She barely manages to look like a person, let alone a woman, let even more alone a president.

As much as I hate Hillary, I could not care less about whether she "looks presidential."

For fuck's sake, we've had monkey boy for the last seven years. Compared to that, a urine-covered hobo "looks presidential."

Well, there's not a whole lot of policy difference between Hillary and Obama, at least in terms of what they are presenting. What's left? Character and image.

Besides, Bush looks like an idiot and he certainly plays the part.

Well, you have to judge her on something considering she doesn't really have any sort of platform that she's the least bit obligated to stick to.  Honestly, my dislike for her comes from the purely irrational assumption that she's the most likely to just ride out her time in office and be bought out by special interests.

Did no one watch the Mitt Romney concession speech? It was almost Tom Cruise-like in its batshittery, and no one but me seems interested.

Having the same major bullet points in their campaigns does not make Obama a Hillary clone.  That's beyond generalization.  It's simply wrong.  Hillary is evil, in a power-hungry, dirty-fighting way.  She'd do anything or say anything to get into the White House and stay there for 2 terms.  Obama has the potential to rise above that, actually do some of the good he promises to do.  He may turn out to be just another scheming politician, but he hasn't proved himself to be one, yet.  That's a huge difference, as big as we could expect.

Cobra, I was not implying that they are the same candidate. I merely said that their policy proposals are similar. I think if you look at how they have run their respective campaigns so far their differences are evident - Obama's campaign is more grassroots oriented whereas the Clinton campaign is more institutionalized.

Plus, you know, Hillary is a calculative bitch. And Barack actually seems genuine.
