Ain't gonna be hard to get me to install Quake Wars.
I never uninstalled it, since I bought it -- even though I don't play it too often.

I tend to be like that w/ MP-based games; just not uninstall them.
I still have yet to uninstall HL2 DM, TF2, and even UT3.

Apparently they sell something called Painkiller: Triple Dose which consists of Painkiller, the expansion or whatever, and Overdose.  I bought that motherfucker for $20 with Company of Heroes Gold and just remembered I have it.  I'll probably spend some time with those since I never really got into Painkiller before.

If you at all enjoy just mowing down hordes of guys who suffer death and dismemberment in awesomely hideous ways, it's impossible to go wrong with Painkiller.  I still don't have Overdose, though.  Can't find it cheap enough on its own.

Yeah, just mowing guys down satisfying me depending on the game.  With games like Serious Sam and what I remember of PainKiller, I can find it really fun in short bursts.  I do not, however, find it even mildly entertaining in games like Doom 3 and Quake 4 where the enemies lack total AI and just run at you, but there aren't nearly enough of them and the level isn't designed to take advantage of that.  In that case, it's just dated gaming as far as I'm concerned.

Edit:  And Overdose is $20.....on steam sadly.

Um, are some levels of the original Painkiller only playable on some difficulties?  Because after beating Chapter 1, I went straight into Chapter 2, Episode 2...which seems weird.  The spot for Ep. 1 is there but it says I can't access it and I'm on the default difficulty setting.

I forget, but that sounds kind of familiar.  But I honestly can't remember.  I think I remember a few levels not being accessible if you were being a pussy, but I didn't think it was the first level of anything.  I thought it was later levels.  It's been a while...

This is correct.
Some levels are only available when running harder difficulties.

I haven't touched Painkiller in, like, forever and never tried Overdose.  I just finished playing through Chrono Cross on ePSXe with a nice shader effect going. I totally forgot about the whacked ass real life ending sequence, but think I have a better grasp of the overall story arc than I did the first time I played it eight years ago.

Chrono Cross was great. Ahhh...I have very fond memories of that one on my PSX.

About Painkiller, if you want Doom on major steroids, don't resist it. One of the best things PK has going for it is its combo guns, tons of different enemies PER LEVEL, and EVERY LEVEL has a majorly different look.

Painkiller is in a genre of FPS games that I have a lot of trouble tolerating. I get frustrated with them very quickly and inevitably bored out of my mind. I need a plot-related driving factor to get interested and immersed in a game's universe. That said, I was still inclined to respect Painkiller and acknowledge it as one of the best (if not the best) game I've ever played in the genre. Technical and compatibility issues aside I think People Can Fly did a great job with their first game and it volleyed them straight into the mainstream gaming industry.

I am currently palying Crysis WARHEAD, Gears of War, and Pure (great ATV racing game). I'm also toying around with Sould Calibur IV on the PS3.

Fallout 2.  This game seems a lot harder than the first, but that might be because my character is totally different this time.  I seem to suck at everything now.  Still, looking forward to getting a little further and finding some better gear that hopefully I can use more effectively.

I just finished up the first Fallout, which was inconceivably awesome.  I had a great time.  Very curious about the plot stuff with 2 now since there are a few things they don't fully explain in the first.

Been playing lots of Sid Meier's Pirates!
Arrrrrrrrrr, great fun, matey.

Been looting, plundering, and sinking ships; impressing daughters of Gov's with my dancing; became the #1 pirated; saved a daughter that got kidnapped; then married that Gov's daughter; and that's it, so far.

Character's 30 years old, but in poor health. Though, rich as sin -- like over 70000 in Gold.

I was hoping SH: HC would turn out great.
And from the reviews, from what I could dig out of most of 'em, looks like it would be.

Would love to hear some impressions of yours on that one.

Playing Vampire: Bloodlines with Wesp's newest unofficial patch 5.7 installed. Playing as a Malkavian, this time around. So far, yeah -- been enjoying it. :)

Been too long since I last played this game.

Yeah, so how you liking it so far?

Pretty good! I'm going through the Side Effects adventure right now. Really enjoying the the atmosphere. The first notable change is the inventory; it's not perfect but it's a lot better than before. The only other differences I've spotted so far are the ehnaced shaders, slightly higher resolution textures, and a few subtle character animations.

I understand some of the issues a few people had with the voice acting, and it's not such an issue for me because while 2 or 3 voices are irritating (or just bad acting) the majority of the voices are great. I think the fact that everything is voiced (more diversely than Oblivion I might add) should count as a merit to the overall work.

So far so good, I'll fill you in on how I'm experiencing it :)

I wish you could sort the Inventory to display only say Food, Drinks, or whatever -- but that new "Autosort" option thing went a long way for me.

Awesome! :)

Without EE, Witcher was amazing. And from what I played so far, with EE, it's even better.
I think when it's all said and done, Witcher: EE to me is one of the best RPG's of all time.

Games I have given up on:

-Riddick.  We already went over why

-Saga Frontier 2.  The combat was boring as hell.

-Pure.  Some of the worst PC load times ever. No lie.  Like, I actually went and took a shower and came back and the load screen was still there....for the fucking title screen.

-Rogue Galaxy.  Space Pirates = awesome.  Goofy Robots, long ass boring cutscenes, and reject Disney afternoon characters = lame.

I just got done playing a couple of hours worth of Little Big Planet!  The local Wal-Mart here was the only place that had them since it seemed everyone else was wise to the recall.  I enjoyed the bit of story mode I played and look forward to playing more tomorrow after work.  I couldn't do any of the online stuff with it since the servers are down for obvious reasons but the story mode should keep me happy until next week.

The load times are ridiculous in Pure!

If the demos are any good measure the console version loads a heck of a lot faster.

It's actually a lot of fun. It's first ATV racing game I've enjoyed so far. If you have the option go for the console version. The PC controls are a bitch even if you have a controller.
