2008 NFL Season
« on: Monday, September 15, 2008, 02:42:47 PM »
I know that there are a few football fans on here so I figured that I would start a thread for the new season. Lots of interesting stuff happening around the league this year - I think that it will be much more exciting than the past few seasons (i.e. not so damn predictable).

I'm excited because the Panthers are looking really good this season. They were miserable last season, and they have won two good games against tough opponents this year. Delhomme's been passing well after his surgery, and we have two really good running backs that are helping him open up the passing game.

Anyways, feel free to respond so that I can trash talk your team. :)

My team, the Bengals, has taken about a million steps back since 2005 and the beginning of 2006.  2005 was supposed to be the beginning of great things, but really it seems more and more it was just a high water mark.  The Bengals suck this year.  The finally are seeing some improvement on defense after being horrible the past few years on that side of the ball but now the offense is just completely unable to do anything.  Amazing considering the talent they have (4 Pro Bowlers).

Anyway, yeah we (badly) lost our easiest two games.  It's going to be a long season.

Fun stats:  The Bengals have been to one playoff game (and won zero) since Mike Brown took over ownership and daily operations in 1991.  1991!

Yeah I remember last year the Bengals were supposed to be pretty good and they didn't really do anything. It just seems like they don't have much chemistry when I watch them. But to be honest, I'm usually rooting against them when I'm watching just because I can't stand Chad Johnson (or, as he is now legally known, Chad Ocho Cinco). He's so dumb it hurts.

But other than that I feel bad for the Cincy fans, because they were promised great things and it turned into a disappointment.

Man, try being a Lions fan.  Oh well, at least they beat the hell out of the Tiger Cats and the Rough Riders.

Oh, wait...what?  Really?  Damn.

Go Seahawks?

I just can't understand why that offense can't score points.  The bengals should be much better than they are.
