I'm a liberal, very far to the left...but I hate PETA with a passion. I like their initial message, but like every other group out there, they take a good message and take it too far to the extreme. Off the top of my head, I would say that 90% of the population is for the "ethical treatment of animals". However, PETA takes it so far as to say that you shouldn't be able to eat meat (something most of us do), but animals should be completely liberated as in they should be able to walk the streets freely shitting everywhere. Not only that, but no one would be allowed to have any pets, not even seeing eye dogs for the blind. They preach about the safety of animals, yet they euthanize half of the animals they take it. Last, but not least, PETA has been proven to fund eco terrorists. These are the people release animals out in the wild or burn down people's newly built houses (and a good portion of the wildlife with it).
