Michael Crichton died...

He wasn't the best author, but he was the go to guy for a book you need to read on a long flight.  Or maybe not.  Either way, I think we can all agree that the Andromeda Strain was great and Steven King is the worst author to ever consistently hit a best seller list.

Andromeda Strain was Crichton's?  . . . Yes.  How about that.

Sorry to hear of his passing.  66 is not that old anymore.

Indeed, I highly enjoyed most of his novels -- Andromeda Strain, Sphere, The Lost World, Timeline, etc.  His more recent works weren't as good as his older pieces for sure, but I still read most of his stuff.

He wrote a lot of crap, but he also had some pretty good stuff back in the day.

Haha, anyone remember the Timeline game?  I never had the displeasure of playing it, but I remember reading about it in a magazine a long time ago and thinking "wtf".

I read Next.  The genetic one.  It sucked.  Jurrasic Park and Sphere were good though.

FACT: the average life expectancy for a male novelist is 30.
