What is this saying?  Americans pay a shit-ton for health care, barely use it, and die a little younger than the residents of many other countries?

Nice.

Republicans are evil, at least give the public preventative health care! That benefits the people and saves us money, how can anyone argue against that?

Its even worse if you think about what our real life expectancy is. All our money is what keeps us alive longer. A huge percent of the money spent on healthcare in the US is spent on the elderly and degenerative diseases. That is money that directly goes towards keeping people alive longer.

We have done away with so many diseases from a couple centuries ago that killed so many people, and our life expectancy really hasn't gone up by much. If you take into account all this money that goes into keeping people alive a few years longer, our life expectancy really hasn't gone up at all.

There are stories from around the time of the constitution of people living into their hundreds. What killed everyone was infections and acute injuries and stuff like that, which is totally curable now. If science really is getting better and we really are living healthier we should be seeing people living well past 100, but its just not happening.

I blame our food supply. Specifically corn, soy, and wheat.
