Wow, shit. I didnt get the last 2 DLC but I could rebuy the whole mess for less. But...Steam! ARG! DAMN YOUS!

You're in the same boat as me.

I am missing BL DLC's 3 and 4 at Retail.
Yet, today I could re-buy BL: GOTY Edition - Steam Version for $7.50 and have the entire game.

I really just wish I could activate my BL + Double Pack DLC 1 + 2 Retail Copies on Steam...
Then, I'd just buy last two DLC's for $2.49 each. :P

I'm pretty tempted to get the pack too. Now that I only really buy things over Steam that are on sale (not counting Dawn of War 2), I've been less apprehensive to support it. I dunno, it hasn't killed my dog yet or anything so I don't really have any personal complaints about it.

I had a retail copy of Borderlands GOTY, just passed that on to my brother and grabbed the Steam version for myself. Now we can finally play together legitimately! ;D

Heh. Figures.

Well, I guess if I'm going to go digital these days I'd still rather go Steam. If it was for the discs, well, then I might be more upset.

I don't know how true it is, since I ain't bought it from them myself and tried it my own self...
But, someone on CAG said the Amazon download version of BL: GOTY's game key actually does activate on Steam.

I'm awaiting more info - 'cause I'm not sure if Amazon version requires Steam straight-up or if it has Securom DRM where Steam-registration is just an extra option.

I saw this thread and thought I'd jump on Borderlands.

I had $80 odd in my Steam wallet and it won't let me buy giving me some weird error which I am sure is because I am in Thailand on holiday.

How messed up is that?

So far the main advantage I'm seeing with the Steam version is that it's hassle-free. Download (one lump sum of 12GB), run, enjoy.

By contrast, the retail copy I have to install and activate the game, then download the DLC's (another 5.2GB) and activate each one individually as I install them, then grab the patch and install it, then keep the disc in the drive in order to play.

I don't if anyone would consider this an advantage but the Steam version comes with achievements.. Shiny, glimmering, achievements.

Individual copy of Portal 2 is 20% off today!

At least that's how it's showing up for me! It could have something to do with the Potato Sack.

I do NOT own The Potato Sack.

The D2D deals can sometimes be pretty impressive, sadly they also have very tight regional restrictions.

Like it said - ANY ORDER over $19.95. :P

Yeah, that's a hella good deal for TW2 Premium on D2D. If you don't care about GOG's extras and the DRM-Free part, that looks to be the way to go...

Keep in mind - TW2 is DRM-FREE only on GOG [for now, unless they patch DRM out of other versions] and there are a few extras on GOG  - 4 extra soundtrack songs, PDF art book, free select RPG game from GOG's list (pick from BD, DD: Remastered, Gothic 2: Gold, ROA1/2 Double Pack, or ROA3), wallpapers, photos, artwork, etc.

Personally - I'm going GOG; I want the DRM-FREE part, the FREE RPG, 4 soundtrack songs, and the PDF art book.

I really like D2D. They've been pretty good - especially the last few years or so, since they trying to compete w/ Steam.

I seem to buy often from them DRM-FREE games and games I can register elsewhere from them i.e. EADM games and Steam games.
