Finally getting around to playing this game.  I know the HD rework is coming out, but it always seemed like a game you'd want to play in its original incarnation.

I'm maybe an hour into it.  I've done 3-4 battles with the shadow creatures thus far.  I'm enjoying the ride so far.  I like how the combat is so simple.  Basically a boy with a stick hacking away at shadow creatures he presumably doesn't know anything about.  It doesn't come off as fluid combat at all.  I like it, it really encompasses the desperate nature of the situation.  I also like how the character actually moves like a little boy.

Definitely something I've been wanting to get around to playing for a VERY long time.  I'm sure all of you have played this, so feel free to join in the discussion as I complete my journey.

Seriously.  That game was as close to a life-changing experience as I'd had for years at the time.  It was a beautiful thing and something I'll certainly never forget.  I can't wait to play it again in HD because it's been a lot of years now.  My old PS2 wouldn't read blue discs so I wasn't able to play it for a long time... can't wait to do it again.

Well, it hasn't exactly been a religious experience or anything thus-far.  However, I am really enjoying the game.  Definitely holds up, even today.

Right now I'm stuck.  I'm hoping to figure it all out on my own without going to a FAQ.

Ico

I got stuck a few times but I remember it was because there was a hidden ledge I didnt see because of the odd camera angles, also there were points where those shadow fuckers frustrated me like crazy.

Well, I was think of only getting the hd version of shadow of the collosus, but after reading the comments here, I am likely to get both.

Apparently in asia they will be releasing both separately...
