Been watching Kung-Fu movies...
« on: Thursday, February 10, 2011, 06:47:55 PM »
And I watched "Ip Man" tonight. About the legendary trainer who was Bruce Lee's instructor. It was loosely based on a true story. Anyway, I think I might have a new favorite fight scene...

Donnie Yen is the man. He's just entertaining in about everything he is in.

This is one of my favourite kung fu movies of all time now.  I bought the blu ray back in 2008, when it was released overseas.

Have you seen the sequel yet?  It's not as good story-wise, but there's a really good fight scene between Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung in the sequel that makes up for the lackluster story.

First movie is phenomenal though.

Heh, weird. I read this then went to netflix to add it to my queue. It was already on it. Woo!

It also reminded me to add some Tony Jaa movies.

Yeah, it is now probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite martial arts movie ever.

My only complaint about both this film and the sequel is that there is some pretty blatant Chinese propaganda in it.
