PC GAMING IS NOT DEAD

PC GAMING IS NOT DEAD

Not that any of us needed convincing, but Razer claims they have proof, and it will be revealed on August 26th 2011 at that site.

I suspect it's another marketing ploy, most likely for the Razer Switchblade.

That's... interesting. No ethernet port though?

Anyway, the sad thing about PC gaming right now is that even at MLG pro circuit they have 2 FPS games, yet they are all played on consoles and the only PC gaming is StarCraft II.

That's pretty sad.

And I'm all for anything pro-PC. Marketing ploy or not, I'm curious.

It'll be interesting to see what Razer comes up with.

But, PC gaming is NOT dead - it basically went digital.

PC gaming isn't dead but the having to remind people of this fact doesn't really say what we want either.

Hasn't the first "true gamers laptop" come out like ten times now?

And only $2800. Wow. What a deal.

Well, it's pretty. But the price is way out of target market.

    2.8GHz Intel Core i7 2640M Processor
    8GB 1333MHz DDR3 Memory
    17.3" LED Backlit Display (1920x1080)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M with NVIDIA Optimus Technology
    2GB Dedicated GDDR5 Video Memory
    Built-in HD Webcam
    Integrated 60Wh Battery
    320GB 7200rpm SATA HDD
    Wireless Network 802.11 b/g/n Compatible
    16.81" (Width) x 10.9" (Depth) x 0.88" (Height); 6.97lbs (Weight)

Considering its tech specs, that price tag is way too high. The only way this will sell to gamers is if it had a competitive price point. Any gamer willing to shell out the cash won't even think twice about trading some portability for an exponentially superior machine.

You know, one of the big "issues" with PC gaming is the price. So releasing a nearly $3,000 laptop is a poor choice for proving PC gaming isnt dead.
