The OW "wishlist" thread. Enlist OW to find those classic/OOP titles!
« on: Sunday, August 05, 2012, 07:13:45 PM »
Got this idea today.  A few of us collect classic plastic, and a few of us visit places like pawn shops, thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, etc etc.  I thought it might be a good idea to make a thread to post wishlists so that perhaps fellow OW'ers can fulfill them while on their respective thrifting journeys.  I figure we're a close enough community where everyone is pretty well trustworthy enough to do this.

Figure you post what you want, what system, and how much you're willing to pay.

Contra III SNES - I'd probably be willing to pay 10 bucks.

Contra:  Hard Corps.  Probably 10-15 for a cart only copy.  upwards of 30 for a complete copy.
Gunstar Heroes:  same as contra

Something else I was thinking of too.  Maybe we can fulfill some of these wishlist needs out of our own collections.  I know I have a ton of stuff I'd probably part with if a person really wanted it.

That's enough money to live here comfortably for a few years. You'll get your picture.

I have a picture of Pug being escorted off the bridge of the Enterprise, does that count?

Valkyrie Profile for the PS1: Willing to pay $75 if it has the manual and case
Persona for the PS1: Willing to pay $80 if it has the manual and case
Mega Man Legends 2 for the PS1: Willing to pay $60 if it is complete
That's all I can think of for now, I may post more later.

There's actually a decent-to-good chance I can find those for you.  There's a baller-ass "indie" game store near here that I visit on occasion, and they have a rare game case (for instance, last time I was there they had a sealed Super Metroid and only wanted 50 bucks for it)

I also have a friend that deals in rare games on e-Bay.  Seller name is JAG1148

He actually has two copies of Persona up for auction now, but neither are complete.  Definitely keep an eye on his auctions, and mention that you know me if you shoot him any messages regarding any of his stuff.  He's an honest dude and won't screw you over.

He does indeed have some awesome stuff. One of the Persona copies he has is actually complete with some minor damage to the case, which is easy enough to repair with regular jewel cases if only the clear part is damaged.  I might have to end up getting that when I get paid later this week.

I may have overestimated how much Persona is worth as well looking at what other sellers are asking for it.  Seems the price may have dropped since it got re-released on PSP last year.  Valkyrie Profile seems to be in this boat as well.  I'm going to edit my pricing on my previous post and also add another game.  I guess from now on I will keep my list on that one post.

EDIT: 8/16/12: I am an idiot and misread the condition of that copy of Persona and you were right about it not being complete K-Man.  Still going to keep an eye on his sales though.

Ooh, thought of one.

Cubivore for Gamecube! I only ever say it in stores one single time and have never seen a used copy. Looks kinda pricey on ebay, too. But if you happen to stumble on a cheap-ish copy I'd be happy. I'd go $20 if it has a case, even dinged. Manual is less important, I just want a copy to actually play. If you had it complete with manual that'd be amazing but you'll get more money on ebay so...you can make that call.

Updating this thread with a DS game I am trying to find:

The game I am looking for is Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja.  New copies seem difficult to find.  I would be willing to buy a complete used copy though.  All of the ones I am seeing online are incomplete and I really want the manual and the case.  I'm willing to pay the full retail price of $40 even if its used since it seems so difficult to find complete.

Also, Idol you need to delete your Excite Truck post since you bought that at the meet.
