This game is fucking awesome. Great followup to Mortal Kombat 9.
I finished the singleplayer campaign in one sitting. Hadn't done that in ages! It was great. Tons of fun and I actually loved the outrageous storyline. I think DC stories are just so much better than Marvel because of the multiple universes. Evil superman is a real ass.
As for the combat mechanics, just sexy as hell.
It might initially seem simpler than MK9. You have light hit, medium hit, and strong hit... no specific button for punches or kicks. What this does is that it allows specific styles to come into effect more easily for the fighters. And most of the fighters have a very different feel.
Anyway, the game isn't simple at all. In fact, having played the hell out of MK9 (I am unbeatable with Scorpion), I can say that this game's fighting mechanics are deeper. The combos are intense and can be chained to wipe half your opponent's health, provided you do them right.
The supers are just crazy and wonderful. Batman calls his batmobile. Superman takes you out of orbit. The Flash goes across planet earth.
The best fighter for me is Green Arrow. Freaking amazing.
You see, each fighter has a special button which allows different attacks. For example, Batman's special button allows him to call small flying bats that can either explode, or form a shield. Superman goes into rage mode. Wonder Woman switches between lasso and shield/sword etc.
Green Arrow just switches his arrow types, and has a freeze arrow which gives him a subzero feel. Plus he is fast and just all kinds of awesome.
I haven't tried all the fighters yet, but this game is underrated by critics and actually loved by fighter fans.
